Frequently asked questions
I do not have a credit card, can I still book an apartment?
You can make a booking even if you don't have a credit card. Simply contact us by phone or e-mail and we will provide you with our bank details so that you can make the payment by bank transfer. We will then be able to make the booking for your desired flat manually.
Please note that for bank transfers, the full booking amount must be received in our bank account at least 7 days prior to arrival. If the check-in date is less than 7 days in the future, no bank transfer can be made, and bookings must be made by credit card.
For foreign currency transfers, the following conditions apply: All fees arising from exchange rates and foreign currencies must be borne by the guest. The guest is responsible for ensuring that the full required amount is received in Swiss Francs (CHF) in our account. Any discrepancies due to exchange rate fluctuations or bank fees must be covered by the guest.
When will my credit card be charged with a 50% down payment?
The 50% down payment will be charged to your credit card when you finalise your booking. Your booking will be confirmed once it has been successfully charged.
Will my down payment be returned in case of a cancellation?
Policiy for bookings 30 nights or less: Free cancellation is possible up to 7 days before arrival and we will refund the 50% advance payment. If the cancellation is made later than 7 days prior to arrival, we will retain the deposit of 50%.
Bookings more than 30 nights: Free cancellation is possible up to 30 days before arrival.
Less than 30 days before arrival: The amount of 1 month rent will be charged.
Is the payment through your website a safe method to pay?
Of course. All your details will be kept confidential and will not be passed on to third parties. We have a PCI certification. PCI is a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard that has been developed to ensure the data security of cardholders.
How and when will the final payment of 50% take place?
The balance is paid the day of your arrival. We will charge the credit card with the final payment, which has also been used for the down payment. Please let us know in advance if you wish to pay with a different card.
Is it possible to arrive earlier than 3 pm?
Normally it is not possible to arrive before 3 pm. At some locations it is possible to deposit your luggage at the apartment building from 11.00 am. Please contact us in advance regarding possible luggage storage.
Is it possible to leave after 11 am?
We do not allow departures after 11.00 am and we do not have the possibility to store your luggage after Check-out.
Are bed linen and towels available in the apartment?
Bed linen and towels are included in the price of the apartment. Below you will find an overview of the standard equipment of our apartments. Wi-Fi Internet are free in all apartments. The WLAN password can be found in a sheet on the table in the apartment.

How will the keys to my apartment be handed over?
The key will be deposited in a key box at the apartment building. Two days before arrival you will receive an email with all the important details regarding the check-in process.
Will the apartment be cleaned during my stay?
HITrental is not a hotel. It is only through our limited service that we are able to offer you our holiday flats and business flats at an excellent price-performance ratio. During your stay, the flat will not be cleaned, and the bed linen and towels will not be changed. Extra cleaning is available on request and for an additional fee of CHF 75.00 per cleaning.
A monthly cleaning service is included in the monthly rental price for stays of 45 nights or more.
Do you provide baby cots?
We can provide you with a baby cot at a price of CHF 15.00.
Please contact us before your arrival.
For bookings of more than 31 nights, we charge CHF 50.00 on the monthly rental price for the hire of a baby cot.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are allowed on request. We charge an extra fee of CHF 10.00 per night.
For bookings of more than 31 nights, we charge a fee of CHF 150.00 per month for pets.
A maximum of two pets are allowed per flat. The prices are flat rates and not per pet.
Are there parking facilities at the apartment and are they included in the price?
We advise you not to travel by car!
If you are arriving by car and we do not have parking spaces available. We can advise you about the best parking facilities in the vicinity. Parking in Switzerland is very expensive, and you will not find any parking lots free of charge.
Is smoking permitted in the apartment?
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all our vacation rentals and business apartments. We reserve the right to charge you with a fine of CHF 500.00 if you do not uphold the smoking restriction.
What do I need to pay attention to when checking out?
The apartment must be delivered in a proper condition. We ask you to wash used dishes and dispose the garbage itself into the designated containers. Please leave all the keys on the table in the apartment and close the door behind you. The door does not have to be locked.
If the apartment is left in a very chaotic and dirty condition, we reserve the right to charge you with an additional fee of CHF 150.00 for our inconveniences.
