Frequently asked questions

I do not have a credit card, can I book an apartment?

It is possible to make a reservation without credit card. In this case, please contact us by phone or email. The advance payment of 25% can also be paid by bank transaction. If you say us which apartment you like to rent and if you give us your desired arrival and departure date, we can make the reservation manually. You will receive the information to make the bank transaction by phone or email.

When will my credit card be charged with the down payment and do you refund the money in case of cancellation?
Normally we charge your credit card with the 25% down payment within 24 hours after your booking. As soon as we receive the payment we will send you a confirma-tion email with all the important information about your apartment. Please read all these information carefully. You will find information about the directions to the apartment and information about the apartments equippment.
We will refund the down payment if you cancel your booking at least 30 days before arrival. We will keep the down payment if you cancel your booking within 30 days before arrival.

Is the payment by credit card on your site secure?
Of course, all your personal information will be kept confidential and not disclosed to third parties. We have a PCI certification. PCI is a data security standard (Payment Card Industry Security Standard), which was developed to improve the data security of cardholders.


How and when can I pay the final balance of 75%?
The balance payment is due on the day of arrival. You can either pay by cash, debit card or credit card. Please let us know if you do not want to pay with the same credit card as for the down payment. You can also pay by bank transaction three days prior to your arrival.

Is it possible to arrive earlier than 3 pm?
Normally arrival before 3 pm is not possible. In rare cases, we can guarantee an earlier arrival and you can move in the apartment already before 3 pm. If you wish to arrive earlier, you have to ask us at least two days prior to your arrival, if an early check in is possible. If an early check in is not possible, we can gladly advise you where you can store your luggage.


Is it possible to leave later than 11 am?
In general, a departure after 11.00 am is not possible. However, in some cases we allow our guests to stay longer in the apartment. If you wish to leave later than 11 am, please ask us at least two days before your departure if it is possible. If a late check out is not possible we can give you tips on where you can leave your luggage until your departure.


Are bedding and towels provided in the apartment?
Bedding and towels are included in the price of the apartment. Below you will find an overview of the standard equipment of our apartments. Wireless internet and TV are at your free disposal in all our apartments. The wi-fi password is in a folder in the apartment.


How can I get the key for the apartment?
You should inform us a few days before your arrival about your estimated arrival time. The key handover will take place either in person by one of our employees or the key will be deposited in a key box. Please call us as soon as you arrive at the apartment in order to obtain all necessary instructions. Please give us an advance notice if you should not have a mobile phone while traveling. In this case, we will send you all information about the check in process prior to your arrival.


Will the apartment be cleaned during my stay?
HITrental is not a hotel. Only because of our limited services, we are able to offer you our apartments at an excellent price-performance ratio. During your stay the apartment will not be cleaned. Bedding and towels will not be substituted.
On request additional services such as laundry and extra cleaning can be claimed.


Is parking available at the apartment and is it included in the price?
We do not recommend to come by car! We only have limited parking. These few parking spaces can be rented at an additional cost. Please ask us prior to your arrival if we can provide a car park. The information on whether the apartment has parking, can be found on either side of the apartments.
If no parking is available we gladly advise you on the best ways where you can park your car nearby. But be aware that parking in Switzerland is expensive everywhere, you will not find any free parking.


Is smoking permitted in the apartment?
Smoking in all our apartments is strictly prohibited! We reserve the right to charge you with a fine if you should not adhere to the smoking ban.


What should I consider when checking out?
The apartment have to be returned in good condition. We ask you to wash used dishes and to dispose your garbage. On departure day, please leave all the keys on top of the table inside the apartment.
If the apartment should be in a very chaotic and dirty condition, we reserve the right to charge you with an additional fee of CHF 150.- for our additional expenses.
